Each month's box is personally curated by Chuck Siegel, our founder, from across both the Charles Chocolates and John Kelly collections. Some pieces are our best sellers - the ones our customers buy again and again.
Other times we may include small batch products: seasonal confections and small-batch explorations available for a limited time only. These come & go quickly, when we run out they're gone.

Charles Chocolates and John Kelly Chocolates share a simple belief: extraordinary chocolate should be made without shortcuts and enjoyed without pretense.
Stewarded by Chuck Siegel, a fixture of the San Francisco chocolate scene since 1987, both award-winning California chocolate houses are grounded in an exacting approach to craft. We make everything in small batches, roast every nut from scratch, and begin with ingredients chosen at the height of their flavor. Nothing artificial. Nothing unnecessary. Just the care, technique, and attention required to make every piece consistently delicious.

We curate every box around what we're developing and loving that month. A typical box includes all five of these.
A signature assortment
The piece by piece collection we are best known for, chosen for the season.

Artisan bars
Handmade bars from our bar line, built on chocolate we choose by percentage and origin rather than by price.

Made in Los Angeles. Denser than a truffle, softer than a fudge, and the thing people write to us about most.
Chocolate covered nuts and fruit
Toasted nuts and dried fruit under a proper coat of chocolate. The part of the box that disappears first.

Refined caramels, elegant assortments, and balanced bars. Our side of the box is the restrained one: less sugar, more chocolate, and a lot of attention paid to texture.
What you will notice: the snap on the bars and the way the caramels stay soft without going sticky.

John Kelly Chocolates
Truffle fudge and deeply indulgent confections with a luxuriously smooth texture. Their side of the box is the rich one, and it is the reason members stay.
What you will notice: the fudge melts at body temperature. Most fudge does not.
Everything else
Can I cancel?
You can cancel from your account at any time, and it takes about ten seconds. You can also pause, skip a single month, or move to a less frequent plan instead of leaving. There is no minimum number of boxes on the monthly plan.
Will I get the same things over and over?
We do our very best to make sure each box is delightful and curated to exceed your expectations. Our monthly box assortments rotate throughout the year and may include our small-batch, limited time offerings to keep each box a surprise.
Why only California, Oregon and Washington?
Unfortunately. premium Chocolate does not travel well during the heat of summer months. Ground shipping from San Francisco reaches these three states fast enough that your subscription arrives in peak condition. We're exploring more ways to service additional states. Please continue to check back once in a while to see if your state has been added.
Can I customize the box?
Unfortunately, at our scale, it's hard for us to accommodate the subscription boxes for allergies or dietary restrictions. Our products may contain or come into contact with nuts, dairy, soy, sesame and wheat.
When am I charged, and when does each monthly box ship?
Boxes go out at the beginning of each month. The monthly plan bills each month on your signup date, and you will always be able to see and change your next charge from your account. The twelve-month subscription plan is billed once, at $864.
Can I give the subscription as a gift?
Yes! Treat yourself, or a loved one, or a highly valued client.
