CHOCOLATE HEAVEN: Drive
directly to the city of Emeryville
and park on Hollis Street
near the big sign that says Charles Chocolates Factory. Enter. Breathe.
Enjoy, and spend as long as you want perusing the array of ridiculously
delicious chocolate possibilities. These are seriously the most ethereal
chocolates you will ever encounter. They come in every flavor of your
dreams, and look just as pretty. You will likely get offered a sample or
two. Don't turn these down. While you make your selections, you can enjoy a
little hot chocolate in the cafe, or watch chocolate makers at work in the
new factory. Beware: These chocolates are not only highly addictive, but
they're also pricey. Bring lots of cash. The cafe and factory are open from
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. 6529 Hollis St., Emeryville.
510-652-4412, http://www.charleschocolates.com.
Enjoy.
